Call for papers: Inequalities in cancer: addressing challenges in diagnosis and treatment

With this cross-journal Collection, the editors invite manuscripts that highlight efforts to increase equity in access to diagnosis and treatment and improve our understanding of oncology in underrepresented populations.

What is this collection about?

As methods for cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment have improved, the barriers to equal care have become more pronounced. It has therefore become increasingly important to ensure cutting edge technologies are available to, and designed for, under-represented populations across the world. With this cross-journal Collection, the editors at Nature Communications, Nature Progress Oncology and Scientific Reports invite manuscripts that highlight efforts to increase equity in access to diagnosis and treatment and improve our understanding of oncology in underrepresented populations. We would also welcome manuscripts assessing cancer prevention and risk prediction between populations. Nature Progress Oncology, Nature Communications, Communications Medicine and Communications Health will consider original Articles, Reviews, Comments and Perspectives. Scientific Reports will consider original Articles.

Why is this collection important?

This is a cross-journal collection between Nature Progress Oncology, Nature Communications, Communications Medicine, Communications Health and Scientific Reports. Authors are welcome to submit to any of the participating journals. All manuscripts published in the collection are hosted on a dedicated nature portfolio portal, giving articles high visibility beyond the journal they are published in.

Why submit to a collection?

Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by In-House Editors who are experts in their fields and supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores, and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.
