Collection Overview
Scientific Reports has launched a Guest-Edited Collection on Polymerization catalysis.
Polymerization catalysis enables controlled synthesis of polymers with tailored structures and properties, which are essential for applications ranging from packaging to biomedical materials. Catalysts play a crucial role in dictating polymerization rates, molecular weight distributions, stereoregularity, and functional group incorporation. The development of advanced catalysts has greatly enriched polymer chemistry, allowing for precise control over polymer architectures, including block copolymers, hyperbranched structures, and sequence-defined macromolecules.
This will be a Collection of original research papers and will be open for submissions from all authors – on the condition that the manuscripts fall within the scope of the Collection and of Scientific Reports more generally. We are welcoming submissions until 3rd April 2026.
Why is this Collection important?
"Polymerization catalysis uses catalysts to control and speed up polymer production, enabling the creation of materials with specific properties. This technique is vital for developing advanced materials used in various industries, including packaging, automotive, and healthcare."- Dr. Sajid Ali Ansari
This Collection also supports and amplifies research related to SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption & Production.
Why submit to a Collection?
Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by Guest Editors, who are experts in their fields, and In-House Editors and are supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores, and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.
Who is involved?
Guest Editors:
- Sajid Ali Ansari, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia
- Manmohan Singh Chauhan, Amity University Rajasthan, India
- Prodyut Dhar, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, India
Internal Team:
- In-House Editor: Chenyu Wang, Scientific Reports, USA
- Commissioning Editor: Quintina Dawson, Fully OA Brands, Springer Nature, UK
- Managing Editor: Eleanor Smith, Fully OA Brands, Springer Nature, UK
