Call for papers: The Role of Physical Activity Played in Aging and Non-communicable Diseases

Physical activity guidelines from the World Health Organization and many countries have been developed with extensive evidence supporting the wide range of health benefits associated with fitness, activity, sports, or exercise. In this special issue we aim to unite related manuscripts, including systematic and State of the Art reviews, meta-analyses, short reports, or orignal investigations on the role of physical activity played on health, aging, cognition, cardiometabolic and non-communicable diseases, including but not limited to cardiovascular diseases, cancer, obesity, diabetes/metabolic syndrome and  dementia. We welcome articles providing new insights into:

  1. The impact of fitness on health.
  2. The impact of resistance activity or aerobic activity on health.
  3. New tools for clinical assessment of cardiorespiratory or muscular fitness.
  4. Incorporation ofphysical activity into patients’ electronic health records.
  5. Device-measured physical activity and health outcomes.
  6. Exercise experimental studies, especially randomized clinical trials, in population with dementia or other chronic conditions.
  7. Physical activity and aging.
