The European Biophysical Societies' Association (EBSA) Congress 2025, held from 30 June to 4 July in the historic city of Rome, Italy, brought together the global biophysics community for five days of vibrant scientific exchange, collaboration, and innovation.
This year’s congress marked a significant milestone, drawing 866 participants from 47 countries, underscoring EBSA’s growing international reach and influence. The event featured a rich and diverse scientific programme, including:
- 8 Plenary Speakers delivering keynote addresses on cutting-edge biophysical research
- 66 Invited Speakers sharing insights across a wide range of disciplines
- 107 Selected Oral Presentations showcasing emerging research
- 30 Symposia covering topics from molecular dynamics to cellular biophysics
- 618 Posters, offering a dynamic platform for early-career researchers and seasoned scientists alike

The congress fostered a lively atmosphere of learning and networking, with attendees engaging in thought-provoking discussions, forging new collaborations, and exploring the latest advancements in biophysical science.
As EBSA continues to champion excellence in biophysics, the success of the 2025 Congress sets a high bar for future gatherings. Rome proved to be a fitting backdrop for this celebration of science, culture, and community.
