Meeting Summary

Title: Induced Proximity and Targeted Protein Degradation: Emerging Technologies and Therapeutic Applications

Date: February 8 - 11, 2027
Location: Fairmont Banff Springs, Banff, AB, Canada

Scientific Organizers: Christina Woo, William Forrester, and Alessio Ciulli

Keynote Speaker(s): Opening and Closing Keynotes to be announced

Targeted protein degradation and other induced proximity modalities are now established concepts in fundamental chemical biology and are transforming therapeutic discovery. Induced Proximity and Targeted Protein Degradation: Emerging Technologies and Therapeutic Applications will showcase the latest mechanistic insights and clinical progress, highlight innovations in the field, and foster interactions that catalyze the exchange of new ideas for disease targeting strategies. The meeting brings together recognized leaders and emerging scientists to share fresh perspectives and systems.

At the heart of this field is the chemical remodeling and rewiring of protein to control biomolecular interactions, a paradigm that has delivered impact across both basic and translational research. The goal of this meeting is to unite a community that spans basic researchers to clinical scientists and to inspire new collaborations that will help deliver the next wave of breakthroughs in targeted protein degradation and induced proximity.

The program will emphasize anticipated frontiers of the field that are poised for clinical impacts, including new E3 ligases and induced proximity modalities. Sessions will focus on chemical and biological discoveries that underpin these innovations and look toward the future using next-generation technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to develop the next wave of insights and discoveries.

*This meeting will be held jointly with Autophagy in Health and Disease: From Mechanisms to Therapeutics

*Keystone Symposia Scholarships & Awards*

Keystone Symposia offers discounted registration to students in undergraduate, M.S., Ph.D., or M.D. programs, providing access to the latest scientific advances, technologies, and approaches to further research and careers.

In addition, several financial aid opportunities are also available to support attendance at its scientific meetings:

  • Student and Postdoctoral Scholarships provide up to $1,200 to help defray travel, lodging, registration, and related costs when presenting a poster at an in-person conference. Awards are competitive, based on the abstract’s scientific quality and relevance, and you must apply by the individual scholarship deadline for the desired meeting (abstract + mentor letter required).
  • Early-Career Travel Awards (ECITAs) support early-career investigators with funding to attend meetings; these also require application by the posted deadline for each conference.
  • Global Health Travel Awards (GHTAs) provide financial aid for scientists, clinicians, fellows, and students from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to participate in select Keystone Symposia meetings, especially those focused on global health topics. These awards may cover registration, lodging, airfare, and ground transportation, and applications are submitted through the Financial Aid Portal by the listed meeting deadlines. Learn which meetings have in-person GHTAs available: https://www.keystonesymposia.org/financial-aid/global-health-awards/ghta-listing
