Cognitive Processing is inaugurating a triennial series of thematic collections on spatial cognition, which will continue and replace the triennial series of International Conferences on Spatial Cognition in Rome that had nine editions between 2001 and 2024 (see www.icsc-rome.com for details), each of them accompanied by conference proceedings published in this journal (see https://link.springer.com/journal/10339/volumes-and-issues).
In continuity with the past conferences, the thematic collections are aimed at fostering interdisciplinary discussion and spreading new, innovative research on spatial cognition. Accordingly, space-related contributions from all disciplines of cognitive science (e.g., cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, computational cognitive science, cognitive robotics, cognitive linguistics, cognitive anthropology, philosophy of mind, etc.) will be considered.
Maintaining the triennial interval of the past conferences, the first thematic collection is scheduled for 2027 and will have a thematic focus on “Agency in spatial cognition”. In addition to contributions to this thematic focus, submissions on all kinds of topics related to spatial cognition are welcome. Submission is already possible and will remain possible till March 15, 2027.
We are very much looking forward to your submissions.
