In the Kafa Zone, when unusual events occur during childbirth involving humans or animals, women gather together and sing traditional songs to ensure that such an incident does not happen again. They carry and wear fresh green leaves and walk toward the river, singing cultural songs. Upon reaching the river, they immerse the leaves in the water and then return.
On their way back, they leave the leaves they were carrying in the river and return holding thin sticks. In the morning, a woman beats a drum when they go, and on their return, men beat the drum as they come back.
At this time, men are not allowed to cross their path unless permission is granted. They respect the traditional rules, follow what is instructed, and then cross the road.
Among the songs they sing during this journey is “Tagene Gondō Shobe,” which means a plea to the divine mother, asking her to protect them and prevent bad things from happening to them.
