In study carried out by Prof. Shakibaie MR and his colleagues they found that antibiofilm activity of a compound is directly related to expression of rhl operon in P. aeruginosa. They research published in Burns journal indicated the over-expression of rhlr quorum sensing regulatory gene decrease the amount of antibiofilm activity of antimicrobial compounds.
