Fat accumulation in the liver is a defining feature of metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease and reduction of liver triglyceride is a major therapeutic goal. We show that a key driver of lipogenesis called LXRalpha may actually protect the liver by lowering liver cholesterol.
