In the May issue of Nature Reviews Physics there is a highly-recommended  FREE to read Roadmap on Gravitational-wave physics and astronomy in the 2020s and 2030s

In the same issue an editorial discusses the life of big projects in physics and astronomy and how the timescales in big science will only lengthen due to the increasing complexity of the instruments. But in publishing, timeframes are often aligned with the pace of fast-moving research, which begs the question of how can journals serve the needs of big science. Roadmaps, that outline the timeframes for achieving certain milestones of a big project and help newcomers find their feet in the field, are one answer, but we would love to hear other ideas from the community.
