What is this collection about?

Effective electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding is crucial for cutting-edge electronic devices to function, and to prevent potential health risks associated with human exposure. The scaling-down of devices, in particular, places demands on the need for high-performance shielding materials. A vast range of materials have been shown to be effective at this, including organic and inorganic systems, with composite systems showing some of the best performance. In most cases, the material systems have been carefully tuned in terms of their chemistry and structure, pushing the limits of materials engineering.

This Collection brings together advances in materials for EMI shielding, covering new material systems and tuning of existing ones. Any work that relates to materials for EMI shielding is in-scope for the Collection. The Collection will publish research papers, Reviews, and Perspectives.
