Call for papers: Novel Insights and Approaches in Time-frequency Analysis
Published in Neuroscience and Behavioural Sciences & Psychology
What is this collection about?
Continuous innovations in the approaches used to analyse behavioural and neural measures have greatly expanded our ability to understand human cognition. In particular, advances in time–frequency analysis have enabled more precise investigation of the dynamic processes that shape cognitive functions.
With this single-journal Collection, the editors at Communications Psychology invite manuscripts that highlight recent advances in the analysis of time-series behavioural and neural data. Topics include, but are not limited to, recent approaches in oscillatory and non-oscillatory analysis, methodological considerations in time-frequency analysis, and applications of time-series analysis to neural or behavioural data, spanning EEG, MEG, single-unit, and behavioural time-series. Communications Psychology will consider original Articles, Reviews, and Perspectives.
Why submit to a collection?
Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by In-House Editors who are experts in their fields and supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores, and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.
This Collection welcomes submissions from all authors – and not by invitation only – on the condition that the manuscripts fall within the scope of the Collection and of Communications Psychology more generally. See our editorial process page for more details. All manuscripts published in the collection are hosted on a dedicated nature portfolio portal, giving articles high visibility beyond the journal they are published in.
Who is involved?
Communications Psychology is edited by both in-house professional editors and Editorial Board Members.
Guest editor for Communications Psychology
Gabriele Gratton, PhD, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA
Gabriele Gratton's interests are in cognitive neuroscience, specifically in the basic organization (spatial, temporal, and functional) of elementary cognitive processes such as those involved in sensory and working memory, attention, motor preparation, and strategy selection. Gratton has been focusing on the application of functional brain imaging methods to the study of these processes in normal adult subjects using optical, electrophysiological and hemodynamic techniques.
Alireza Valizadeh, PhD, IASBS, Iran
Alireza Valizadeh currently works at the Department of Physics, Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences. Alireza does research in Theoretical Neuroscience and Neural modeling. Their current research focus is the dynamics of the cortical circuits, mechanisms of generation of brain oscillations and the mechanisms of information transfer in the neuronal networks.
