Innovative programmable motion and compliant sensing have been achieved due to rapid advances in soft functional materials.
Scientific Reports, a journal in the Nature Research family, is proud to welcome original primary research articles for our upcoming “Soft sensors and actuators” Collection.
This Collection will provide a platform for interdisciplinary studies of soft sensors and actuators, including their application in smart textiles, haptic electronics, biomedical devices and soft robotics.
Submissions are welcome on a rolling basis.
For information regarding Scientific Reports' policies on Guest Edited Collections please read this page.
The Collection is Guest Edited by Professor Il-Kwon Oh, KAIST, South Korea. Il-Kwon Oh is a leading materials science researcher and the Director of the Active materials and dynamic systems Laboratory at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea. He obtained his PhD from KAIST in 2001 at the department of Mechanical Engineering, where he now holds the position of Full Professor. His research interests include soft actuators and artificial muscles, smart materials and structures, energy harvesting and energy conversion materials, as well as functional cellular structures. Il-Kwon Oh has been an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports since 2016.
