Editors' highlights: Blood Cancer Awareness Month

The prevalence of blood cancers, which include leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma (among others), represents a significant global health concern. In recognition of Blood Cancer Awareness Month, this September, Editors from across our hybrid and OA oncology journals have chosen the following articles to highlight the latest advances in blood cancer research.
- Pretransplant spleen volume and outcome after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML)
- Real-world treatments and thrombotic events in polycythemia vera patients in the USA
- Shorter duration of venetoclax administration to 14 days has same efficacy and better safety profile in treatment of acute myeloid leukemia
- Cardiac toxicities in multiple myeloma: an updated and a deeper look into the effect of different medications and novel therapies
- Global burden of hematologic malignancies and evolution patterns over the past 30 years
- Integrated analysis of next generation sequencing minimal residual disease (MRD) and PET scan in transplant eligible myeloma patients
- Management of chronic myeloid leukemia in 2023 – common ground and common sense
- Monitoring, prophylaxis, and treatment of infections in patients with MM receiving bispecific antibody therapy: consensus recommendations from an expert panel
- The prevalence and outcomes of frail older adults in clinical trials in multiple myeloma: A systematic review
- Carfilzomib, lenalidomide and dexamethasone followed by a second ASCT is an effective strategy in first relapse multiple myeloma: a study on behalf of the Chronic malignancies working party of the EBMT
- Outcome after allogeneic stem cell transplantation with haploidentical versus HLA-matched donors in patients with higher-risk MDS
- Role of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant for relapsed/refractory aggressive B-cell lymphomas in the CART era
