At Nature Communications we are excited to announce the launch of our new collection on f-block elements. This collection aims at highlighting the relevance of this research field and showcasing the latest work at various levels, ranging from fundamental research to applications of f-block elements. In particular, the collection is divided in the following four sections:

  • Structure and bonding in f-block complexes
  • f-elements in catalysis
  • Materials
  • Electronic and spin properties

All the papers are open access and we hope you enjoy browsing the collection.

Pre-clinical drug discovery

We welcome studies reporting advances in the discovery, characterization and application of compounds active on biologically or industrially relevant targets. Examples include emerging screening technologies, the development of small bioactive compounds/peptides/proteins, and the elucidation of compound structure-activity relationships, target interactions and mechanism-of-action.
