Flames in Space Image Poll: Ethylene Diffusion Flame #1

This colour image of an ethylene-air diffusion flame was recorded 0.1 s after ignition in the NASA Glenn Research Center 2.2-Second Drop Tower. The scale is indicated by the 6-mm spherical burner. Glowing SiC fibers, used for thin-filament pyrometry, are visible.
