I am delighted to announce that the recently launched Uterine Research, dedicated to exploring uterine physiology, function, and pathology as well as prevention and treatment of diseases, is open for submissions!

Uterine Research is an open access, peer reviewed journal publishing research on uterine development, function, abnormalities, and disease including clinical, translational and basic science research. It is the only journal focused exclusively on both uterine health and pathology.

Publish Free in Our First Year

To mark our inaugural year, the journal will be APC-free for all accepted submissions until early 2027. By waiving APCs during our first year, we aim to remove financial barriers and encourage broad participation from researchers across disciplines, institutions, and global regions. This initiative reflects our commitment to equity, accessibility, and the rapid dissemination of impactful uterine research.

A Highly Respected and Multidisciplinary Editorial Board

Our editorial board brings together internationally recognised leaders in uterine biology, reproductive medicine, gynecologic pathology, and translational science. The board is united by a shared commitment to scientific rigour and constructive peer review. We have built a team that values methodological excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Professor Warren B. Nothnick, Editor-in-Chief, provides the editorial leadership for Uterine Research. Warren is based at the University of Kansas Medical Center where he is the Vice-Chairman of Cell Biology and Physiology. He also serves as the director for the Center of Reproductive Sciences and Scientific Advisor for the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources at KUMC. He brings extensive expertise in uterine diseases including endometriosis, adenomyosis and endometrial cancer along with a distinguished record of scholarship experience. 

I feel the journal can contribute to the identity of uterine research as a field which encompasses and expands beyond the traditional boundaries of reproduction to reflect what is happening in the real world.

We recently published an editorial outlining the journal’s mission and priorities. The piece highlights our dedication to better understanding basic uterine concepts as well as discovering new players in the field of uterine biology and disease. 

Our goals for Uterine Research are that it becomes a reliable source of information and that it contributes to the ongoing conversation within the research community among basic, translational, and clinical scientists.
