If you find that you are unable to save or publish your blog post, there might be a few reasons why. Take a look at some of the troubleshooting tips below, but if you still face issues you can also contact the team.

You may not have filled in all the necessary fields

There are certain fields that must be completed before you can save and publish your post. These are identified by an asterisk (*), and include the title and content sections of the post. If the Schedule, Preview, and Publish buttons appear greyed out, make sure these fields are complete.

Your introduction may be too long

There is a character limit of 300 for the introduction text, which is shown in the bottom right corner of the section. If you exceed the limit, the number will show how many characters over the limit you are in red and prevent you from saving your post until this is corrected.

The 'Introduction' section of the post creation page filled with place-holder text and displaying the character limit in the bottom right hand corner, which show the current text is 201 characters over the limit. At the very bottom, in red letters, the following can be read ' Introduction is too long (maximum 300 characters).

Try reducing your introduction length to fit within the character limit, and you should then be able to save and publish your post.

You are pasting the text from an external source

If you are pasting the text over after copying it from Word, Google Docs, or another source, it can occasionally carry over some unsupported formatting on the website, which will cause the Schedule, Preview, and Publish buttons to become inactive (appear greyed out).

To avoid this, use the option of ‘Paste as plain text' when you are pasting your text into the Community.

Try a different browser

If none of the solutions above worked, try using a different browser to write your post, such as Chrome or Firefox.
