Introducing Brain Theory and Intelligence Science

Brain Theory and Intelligence Science (BTIS) is a new fully open access journal dedicated to advancing frontier research in brain theory and intelligence science.

The journal explores the fundamental principles and mechanisms of brain function, with the aim of advancing next-generation intelligence science and providing an interdisciplinary platform that connects brain science, theoretical neuroscience, cognitive science, and intelligence science.

🧠BTIS particularly welcomes research on:

  • Brain Operational Modes and Working Mechanisms
  • Cross-scale unified theories of the brain
  • Principles and mechanisms underlying the emergence of intelligence
  • Integration of natural and brain-inspired intelligence
  • Brain-inspired computing and intelligent systems

🦄What Sets BTIS Apart

Prioritizing theoretical innovation

Providing an inclusive publishing platform for original theoretical research in brain theory and intelligence science, while encouraging scientifically valuable and testable theoretical innovation.

Emphasizing scientific rigor and clearly defined boundaries

Clearly distinguishing among theories, models, simulations, and engineering applications, and encouraging authors to define their research hypotheses, scope of applicability, and limitations objectively.

Advancing cross-scale integrative research

Encouraging research that connects microscopic neural activity and mesoscopic population dynamics with macroscopic cognition and behavior, thereby supporting an integrated understanding of how intelligence emerges.

Connecting brain science and intelligence science

Promoting scholarly exchange between natural and brain-inspired intelligence, and advancing the coordinated development of brain-inspired theories and intelligent technologies.

Ensuring fair evaluation through expert peer review

Drawing on an editorial board with expertise in theoretical neuroscience, mathematical neuroscience, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and related fields to ensure that innovative work receives rigorous and impartial evaluation.
