About Charlotta Böiers
Following medical training, I pursued a combined clinical and PhD pathway, with my doctoral research focusing on fetal lymphopoiesis (Böiers et al, Cell Stem Cell 2013). I subsequently focused fully on postdoctoral research, primarily at University College London (UCL) Cancer Institute, UK, expanding my scope to include malignancy hematopoiesis (Boiers et al, Developmental Cell, 2018).
Since 2019, I have led an independent research group within the Division of Molecular Hematology at Lund University, where we investigate the pre-leukemic events that drive disease initiation. A central focus of our work is also to understand how the fetal environment contributes to the vulnerability to these oncogenic changes (Sommarin et al, Blood Advances 2023, Calderón et al, Leukemia 2025).
