About Ömer Faruk Coşkun
Dr. Ömer Faruk Coşkun is a Professor at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Türkiye, holding dual Ph.D. degrees in Biology and Horticulture, and associate professorship qualifications in both fundamental biological sciences and applied agricultural sciences. He has an extensive publication record in plant sciences and agricultural biotechnology, including peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His research focuses on plant biotechnology and crop production, with emphasis on tissue culture, plant breeding, grafting physiology, and soilless cultivation, particularly under abiotic stresses such as salinity, drought, cold, and heavy metals. He integrates molecular, physiological, and biochemical methods with data-driven approaches, including machine learning and quantitative phenotyping, to identify stress-resilient genotypes and optimize propagation and production strategies. Dr. Coşkun has served as principal investigator in nationally and internationally funded projects and contributes to the field through editorial and peer-review activities.
