About Pauline Le Coq
I am a PhD student at the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography (MIO), where my research focuses on the role of prokaryotes in the biological carbon pump, with a particular emphasis on the mesopelagic zone. My research integrates field sampling, microbial activity measurements, and multi-omics analyses to investigate the role of deep-sea microorganisms in carbon cycling. At the MIO, we have the unique opportunity to study this deep microbial world under in situ hydrostatic pressure conditions !
