About Pimple Uday
I am a spatial ecologist and Assistant Professor at the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand. My research combines Earth observation, field-based ecological inventories and landscape history to understand how tropical forests and coastal ecosystems respond to disturbance and restoration. I am particularly interested in mangrove species diversity, forest structure, natural regeneration and blue carbon.

What an inspiring story, thanks for sharing. A wonderful example of how recovery can occur when ecological legacies are given the chance to persist.
Thank you so much, Luciana! We truly appreciate your kind words. This journey really highlights how much resilience mangrove ecosystems have when we protect biological legacies and embrace hybrid governance led by local communities, allowing natural recovery to take the lead.
