About Ricardo León-Sampedro
I am a microbial ecologist working at the interface of evolutionary biology and quantitative modelling. My research focuses on understanding how mobile genetic elements reshape microbial communities and drive antimicrobial resistance dynamics.
I develop ecological and predictive frameworks that integrate genomics, metagenomics, plasmidomics, and mathematical modelling to study genetic invasion across gut, food, and environmental systems.
Currently based at IPLA-CSIC, my work aims to build a coherent theory of community-level gene dynamics that links microbial ecology to One Health challenges.
