About Richard Price
Dr. Price investigates how ultrasound can be focused, tuned, and deployed to non-invasively treat a wide range of diseases. Many projects are centered on neural applications and entail using MRI-guided focused ultrasound to deliver gene therapies and drugs across the blood-brain barrier to treat brain tumors, stabilize cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs), and reverse neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases). Other lines of investigation seek to understand how the thermal and mechanical effects created by certain focused ultrasound regimens can be leveraged to elicit anti-tumor immune responses against breast cancer and melanoma.
