Advanced Fermentation Technologies
Fermentation technology faces both opportunity and pressing scientific challenge. This special issue of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering advances the state of the art across the full spectrum of fermentation science. It aims to deepen understanding of microbial and metabolic mechanisms governing fermentation performance, and to explore innovative biotechnological and engineering strategies for process optimization. It further serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue between academia and industry to accelerate translation of scientific discoveries into scalable applications, and as a catalyst for new interdisciplinary collaborations. We invite original research articles and reviews addressing these themes.
