Call for papers: Magnetoacoustic interactions in spintronic systems Collection

This Collection brings together original research on magnetoacoustic interactions in spintronic systems, highlighting physics mechanisms, the next generation of material platforms, and prospects for future device technologies.

Collection Overview

Scientific Reports has launched a Guest-Edited Collection on Magnetoacoustic interactions in spintronic systems.

Magnetoacoustic interactions in spintronic systems explore the dynamic coupling between elastic waves and spin excitations, offering new pathways for information processing and energy transduction. Progress in materials science, nanoscale fabrication, and ultrafast measurement techniques has driven rapid advances in this field.

This will be a Collection of original research papers  and will be open for submissions from all authors – on the condition that the manuscripts fall within the scope of the Collection and of Scientific Reports more generally. Narrative review articles are also welcomed, to our sister journal Scientific Reviews. We are welcoming submissions until 27th November 2026.

Why is this Collection important?

"Magnetoacoustic interactions are emerging as a powerful route to control spin dynamics through the coupling between magnetic and elastic excitations. This rapidly developing area connects magnetism, acoustics, materials science, and nanotechnology, offering new strategies for low-power information processing and advanced spintronic devices. I am excited about this Collection because it creates a space for researchers to share breakthroughs in theory, materials, and experiments that push this field forward. By bringing together diverse perspectives, this Collection can help define the next research directions and accelerate the development of magnetoacoustic concepts in future spintronic technologies."

- Dr. Juan Escrig, Guest Editor

Why submit to a collection?

Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by Guest Editors, who are experts in their fields, and In-House Editors and are supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.

Who is involved?

Guest Editors:

  • Juan Escrig, University of Santiago, Chile
  • Arabinda Haldar, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, India
  • Mehmet Cengiz Onbasli, Koç University, Turkey

Internal Team:

  • In-House Editor: Silvia Butera, Scientific Reports, UK
  • Commissioning Editor: Robert Moran, Fully OA Brands, Springer Nature, UK
  • Managing Editor: Rebecca Chan, Fully OA Brands, Springer Nature, UK

How can I submit my paper?
