I am pleased to share our recently published article, “Education for sustainable development in the Brazilian university context and the 2030 agenda,” in Discover Sustainability, published by Springer Nature.
Our study examines the integration of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) within Brazilian universities and its alignment with the commitments established by the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The findings highlight important progress in incorporating sustainability into university policies and practices, while also revealing significant challenges that remain for the effective and comprehensive implementation of ESD across higher education.
In this context, the study reinforces the strategic role of universities in educating professionals and citizens committed to sustainability and in developing responses to contemporary environmental, social, and economic challenges.
