Let’s begin 2020 with a run-down of our Top Ten most viewed* Behind the Paper posts of 2019, book-ended by agrivoltics and sustainable cities.     

1. Taking the top spot, a post by Helene Marrou from September on the history of agrivoltaics.    

2. The surprising finding that China and India leaders in greening of the world is the subject of our second most viewed post, contributed by Chi Chen.  

3. Thomas Sterner discusses policy design for the Anthropocene, our Behind the Paper at no.3. 

4. Identifying public understandings of SDGs by Paul Bain is our fourth most viewed post of 2019. 

5. Sticking with the SGDs, Guido Schmidt-Traub proposes six ideas to help achieve them - our post at no.6 post      

6. Frans Bongers writes about the long-term sustainability frankincense in his Behind the Paper from July, our sixth most viewed. 

7. Assessing global targets on access to clean water is the topic of Oki Taikan’s post, in at no.7. 

8. Our no.8 post is about eco-technology for wastewater treatment, contributed by Muhammad Arslan. 

9. Rebecca Ciez examines different recycling processes for lithium-ion batteries in her Behind the Paper, our ninth most viewed post of 2019.   

10. And just making the Top Ten is Thomas Elmqvist’s post on global sustainability in the urban century.
