Collection Overview

Scientific Reports has launched a Guest-Edited Collection on Machine learning applications in psychology.

Increases in computing power and the availability of more data through social media and crowdsourcing have facilitated the use of machine-learning in psychological research. Machine learning has been extensively used in behavioural studies, offering insights into the processes underlying decision-making, consumer behaviour, and human learning, as well as in clinical studies, contributing to our understanding of mental health issues and personality disorders.

This will be a Collection of original research papers and will be open for submissions from all authors – on the condition that the manuscripts fall within the scope of the Collection and of Scientific Reports more generally. We are welcoming submissions until 28th February 2026.

Why is this Collection important?

"The use of machine-learning in psychological research contributes to our understanding of human behaviour and offers insights into clinical research. This Collection welcomes original research on machine learning applications in psychology." - Dr. Betty Mousikou
