From our work with researchers and funding agencies around the world, we know that it can be challenging to share sensitive medical research data appropriately. Where patients are participating in trials or studies, their privacy needs to be protected. At the same time the stakes are high - everything these organisations can do to help speed the pace and efficiency of research has a real impact on people and human health and well-being.
We've worked on a number of projects to assist researchers in sharing their clinical research data, including providing expert support to authors at the journal npj Breast Cancer to help them to share all of the data underpinning their research paper; training researchers funded by CRUK in data sharing best practices; and assisting Wellcome researchers in publishing their data in repositories.
We recently published a blog for the AMRC (the Association of Medical Research Charities) and you can read more about how we assist with sensitive data sharing on their site, here.
