Once seen solely as the powerhouse of the cell, mitochondria are now recognized as key signaling hubs that influence cell fate, function, and disease. While traditionally linked solely to ATP production, recent research shows that mitochondrial dysfunction disrupts key signaling pathways. This meeting will explore these signaling pathways, examining mechanisms of how mitochondrial DNA, metabolites and ROS play central roles in epigenetic regulation, stress responses, inflammation and aging.
. By bringing together biologists, clinicians, and industry scientists, the program aims to advance understanding and therapeutic targeting of mitochondria for a variety of diseases, from ischemia-reperfusion to neurodegeneration. Attendees will also benefit from workshops, panels, and a career roundtable to support skill development and collaboration.
