Solid state ionics involves the study of ionic conductors and their use and is regaining considerable attention worldwide in the recent years as it essentially defines some emerging technologies such as solid state batteries. 

The International Conference on Solid State Ionics is a major global event in the field, which is held every two years starting from 1972 and discusses all topics related to fast ion transport in solids. The 22nd International Conference on Solid State Ionics (SSI-22) is to be held in South Korea from June 16 to 21, 2019.

Tentatively, the themes are organised by application area and fundamental and application sessions are coordinated for each application group.
