For mussels it’s clear from the very beginning: shells, that’s what they'll become. Death won't turn them into something alien, never seen before. How ridiculous would it be - for a mussel - to be scared by a shell!
But for us it’s different. We don’t walk around with our skulls and bones exposed, so they frighten us.
Then it’s easy, to postpone and forget.
