What burns above the ground is only part of the story.
Beneath the flames, peatlands hold vast stores of carbon accumulated over centuries.

When peat burns, the fire can persist underground, releasing carbon emissions and producing smoke that affects people, ecosystems, and the climate.

💧 Keep the peat wet.
🌿 Protect the peatlands.
🔥 Help stop the fires before the emissions grow.

The fire is visible.
The carbon beneath it is not.
But both demand our attention.
