The growing needs to understand climate change and to facilitate energy transition have heightened the significance of geophysics. Near-surface geophysics, geophysical exploration for renewable energy, and geophysical studies on the environmental impacts of human activities are some of the key topics highlighted in 2023.

Chenyu Wang joined Scientific Reports in 2022 after working as a postdoctoral fellow in Los Alamos National Lab for 4 years. He completed a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry at SUNY-Binghamton, USA, focusing on leveraging crystal growth knowledge to tailor the structure/properties of nanomaterials. Chenyu specializes in heterogeneous catalysis, material sciences, and energy-related applications. In particular, he finds fulfillment in interacting with researchers and providing quality author experience.
