Scientific Reports is an open access journal publishing original research from across all areas of natural sciences, psychology, medicine and engineering. We published over 30,000 articles in 2024 and we’re pleased to announce the most read* articles in our overall top 100. Featuring authors from around the world and from research fields across the scope of the journal, these papers highlight valuable research from an international community.

Take a look to find out more about prehistoric giant snakes and sabretooth cats, or how making notes of your frustrations and throwing them away might be a good anger suppression strategy. You can also read about the impacts of global heat stress on food supply, and how edible insects might contribute to efforts tackling it. Plus, check out how AI might be more creative than humans and much, much more in our overall top 100.

Congratulations to all authors who contributed to these highly valuable research papers!

The static theory of the structure of the atom is the foundation of the structure of matter. Without a visual representation of the structure of matter, it is impossible to effectively develop applied science. The dynamic model of the atom of the early 20th century is morally obsolete and has not given a SINGLE applied scientific discovery regarding the structure of the electron layers of the atom. The "eternal" rotation of electrons, as the corpuscular-wave duality of the electron, based on the "eternal" wave (the wave is an energy release) contradicts the law of conservation of energy. The static theory of the structure of the atom (the interaction between the electron layers of atoms) visualizes ALL chemical and physical processes. The theory provides the prerequisites for thousands of scientific startups.

04/15/2025 The only author of the static theory of the atom is Dmitry Vitalievich Chukichev.
