Joe is an ecologist with over 25 years' experience. He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications and one book with Princeton University Press. He has extensive experience in plant ecology and plant-grazer interactions. In 2013 he founded Jonah Ventures along with Noah Fierer to help other scientists answer ecological questions by sequencing environmental DNA.

Devin Leopold is the Lead Bioinformatician and Full-Stack Software Developer at Jonah Ventures, where he designs and manages the company's cutting-edge computational infrastructure. With a PhD in Ecology and Evolution from Stanford University and over a decade of experience as a field ecologist, Devin integrates deep ecological knowledge with advanced technical skills. Devin's combined expertise in programming and web development enables him to build intuitive, powerful software tools that help clients effectively manage and interpret complex biological datasets. His innovative work has resulted in collaborations with prestigious institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, developing highly scalable bioinformatics solutions and infrastructure tailored specifically for DNA-based biodiversity research.

Kyra Florea, MS

Kyra did her graduate work at the University of Southern California focused on microbial community interactions of cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms. Since leaving USC she has worked for Jonah Ventures as a client-facing scientist providing technical expertise to a wide variety of scientists. Kyra has also been instrumental in developing and organizing lab protocols for Jonah Ventures.
