About Ajay Vikram Singh

I am senior scientist in the Department of Chemical and Product Safety at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), Berlin. At BfR, I play a key role as an experimental toxicologist and materials science expert, contributing to a multidisciplinary team of over 750 scientists dedicated to advising the German federal government on food safety, chemical and product safety, contaminants, animal welfare, and consumer health.

Before joining BfR in 2018, I spent over four years as a senior research scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPIS), Stuttgart, where I advanced safer material design for targeted drug delivery using micro/nanorobotics platforms.

I hold an MSc in Biotechnology from Pune University (2005) and a PhD in Medical Nanotechnology from the European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM), University of Milan (2012). My research spans computational, chemical and nanotoxicology, micropatterning, micro/nanorobotics, neurobiology, antibacterial surfaces, and nano-bio interface interactions.
