About Andrés Díez-Herrero
His research focuses on flood hazard and risk analysis, mitigation strategies, and innovative mapping methodologies. Specifically, he applies geological, geomorphological, and palaeohydrological techniques (including sedimentological and dendrogeomorphological methods) to improve frequency and magnitude estimations for flash floods. His work emphasizes non-structural preventive measures, such as urban planning, civil protection plans, risk education, and insurance systems, while addressing climate change's impact on flood risk and optimising structural measures to mitigate these hazards.
