About Baifeng Zhang

I am a computational biologist with strong coding expertise and research experience in cancer evolution and the metastatic microenvironment. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Oncology from the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, and currently work as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Prof. Linghua Wang’s laboratory at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. My research focuses on computational cancer genomics, leveraging massively parallel sequencing technologies—including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics—to (1) investigate the heterogeneity and evolutionary trajectories of cancer cells (Nature Communications 2019; Gynecologic Oncology 2020; Molecular Oncology 2022; iScience 2022; Patterns 2025), and (2) explore the dynamic interplay between evolving cancer cells and their surrounding immune microenvironment (Hepatoma Research 2021; Advanced Science 2023; PNAS 2023; PNAS 2024; Nature Communications 2024; PNAS 2025). I also serve as a peer reviewer for leading oncology journals, including Cell Reports Medicine, Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, Advanced Science, Advanced Functional Materials, Protein & Cell, Clinical and Translational Medicine, iScience, Scientific Reports, BMC Cancer, and BMC Medical Genomics.
