About Brian J. Jones

Hi, all. I am a career number-cruncher very interested in social capital and relationships generally. In the course of my research I kept coming across how social structures seemed to impact happiness. Using the General Social Survey and a qualitative survey I funded myself, I decided to focus on this topic .  It's an eye-opener. Who knew, for example, that marriage doubles Americans' chance of being "very happy"? Social class and hanging out with friends really matter, too. Happiness is not the sole domain of psychologists.
