About Fan Xuan

I am a research scientist in the Department of Epigenetics at Van Andel Institute, with extensive training in biochemistry and molecular biology. My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of chromatin regulation, particularly histone modifications, transcriptional control, and their roles in cancer development. I have deep expertise in epigenetic enzymes and readers, including the NuA4/KAT5 (TIP60) complex, ENL and AF10/AF17, using biochemical, structural, and cell-based approaches. My current work investigates how RNA modulates chromatin-associated acetyltransferase activity and transcription. I am also actively engaged in peer review, editorial service, and mentoring, and I enjoy collaborative, mechanism-driven research at the interface of epigenetics and cancer biology.
