About Gilbert Schönfelder
I am a professor at the university and head of the Toxicology Unit at Charité – Universitätsmedizin in Germany. Among other things, I am a specialist in pharmacology and toxicology.
I spent 13 years leading the Experimental Toxicology and ZEBET Department and directing the German Centre for the Protection of Laboratory Animals (Bf3R).
My clients in scientific consulting come from politics, government, and research.
As part of my clinical work, I offer advice to patients and doctors on poisoning and its treatment.
My work involves experimental toxicology, assessing health risks from chemicals, and drug development. Another focus of my work is the continuous improvement of the quality of research and development in biomedicine.
A vital component of my scientific reviewer duties involves working with specialist journals worldwide.
