About Helder I. Chaminé
H.I. Chaminé is a skilled Geologist (BSc, PhD, DSc) with over 34 years of experience in multidisciplinary geoscience research and practice. His expertise spans fundamental to applied fields (mapping, structural geology, engineering geosciences for rock engineering, slope geotechnics, hydrogeomechanics, subterranean geology, hard-rock hydrogeology, urban hydrogeology, groundwater exploration, and hydromineral resources management). He has interests in geomining heritage, geoethics, history of cartography, military geosciences, higher education dissemination, and geo-professional core values.
He serves on several international journal boards and has over 230 publications. He edited over 26 conference volumes and special issues (Springer, MDPI). He is currently involved in editing themed issues in hydrogeomechanics and groundwater.
