About Klára Nekvindová

As a clinical anaesthesiologist working across operating theatres, emergency departments, and intensive care units, I encounter the complex challenges of caring for older patients in acute and perioperative settings. My primary interest lies in perioperative brain health, with a focus on preoperative cognitive screening and the early identification and management of postoperative delirium.

In the anaesthesia outpatient clinic, I implement targeted cognitive assessments to help identify surgical patients at risk of neurocognitive complications. On the ICU, I care directly for postoperative patients where vigilance and timely intervention can influence neurological recovery and overall outcomes.

My goal is to bridge real-world clinical experience with evidence-based approaches that support cognitive resilience and improve the quality of surgical care for vulnerable elderly populations.
