About Laura De Pretto

I am a Senior Lecturer in Social Psychology at Leeds Trinity University, with a research focus at the intersection of cross-cultural psychology and environmental psychology. My work explores how cultural background, migration, and social context shape human–nature relationships, including pro-environmental behaviour, access to green spaces, and the psychological benefits of nature.

I have a particular interest in how these processes vary across cultural and socio-economic groups, with the aim of contributing to more inclusive and culturally sensitive approaches to sustainability and wellbeing. I lead interdisciplinary initiatives that bring together researchers, communities, and policy perspectives to address environmental challenges.

My broader interests include migration psychology, identity and belonging, and the ways in which social and environmental factors interact to influence wellbeing. I am also engaged in collaborative and applied research, including scale validation, cross-cultural methods, and community-based work.
