About Marcela Frizzo
I explore how atomic-scale control over materials enables transformative technologies. My research spans nanomaterials and advanced ceramics, with a focus on microwave-assisted synthesis, structural disorder, and surface engineering of metal oxides. I use techniques like XRD with Rietveld refinement, Raman spectroscopy, and Pair Distribution Function (PDF) analysis to probe how local structure governs function.I’m currently developing materials for energy storage, catalysis, and sustainable agriculture — including vitreous fertilizers engineered from industrial waste. By turning residual streams into functional materials, I aim to link fundamental materials science with circular economy strategies and real-world impact.
