My research concerns about the intersection between the wind power plants and the conventional power plants during normal and abnormal conditions. My research contributions have been to secure an efficient automation system to keep the integration of into conventional power systems more reliable and safe. The reasons for taking this field are that, in 2010 Egypt’s main challenge was to ensure stable energy supply for its growing population. Blackouts and power outages, especially during the hot summer months, affected residential and industrial areas alike. At the time, experts cited an electricity shortage of around 20-25% while short electricity demand rose steadily at more 4 % per annum. As a consequence, the energy system not only had to be stabilized, but also required substantial expansion and investment to ensure a reliable power infrastructure that could foster long-term economic development. Egypt has put its concerns toward the renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. According to the Egyptian energy portfolio, it is expected that a bout 0f 40% of Egyptian total energy will be extracted from renewable energy sources. Motivated by the previous concerns, my research is focusing on impacts of integration of wind power plants into power grids tacking into account the technical regulation requirements of such promising renewable energy sources. I have about ten years of experience in teaching and research. I am such a hard worker and I promise, I will never let you down. I have the skills of programming and also the experience for programming with many engineering programs for power systems and others applications such as Matlab/Simulink, Optimization programs, PowerFactory- DIgSILENT, Lab view, and hardware implementation.
