About Paulo Tarso S. Oliveira

I am currently a professor of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), with a joint appointment at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil.

My work links field data with advanced process-based and data-driven modeling techniques to enhance our understanding of hydrological and soil erosion processes, including the interactions among hydrology, human activities, and ecosystem services. I have focused on the development and refinement of models and data analysis using hydrometeorological data across various spatial scales (plots, hillslopes, catchments, and continental) through laboratory experiments, field studies, and remote sensing-based research. I have also been conducting studies on water security, analyzing the impacts of climate change and land use/land cover changes on hydrological processes.
